- Ibrahim said Senator Saraki should consider himself lucky if he is voted back into the National Assembly to represent his constituency
- Senator Ibrahim said the APC is working hard to prevent Saraki from winning his constituency as well
The All Progressives Congress (APC) senator, Abu Ibrahim, has said the ruling party is working hard to ensure that Bukola Saraki, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) does not return to the National Assembly as Senate president.
Daily Trust reports that Senator Ibrahim said once the new senators come in after the election, new leaders will be selected for the National Assembly and Saraki won't be one of them.
The senator said Saraki would be lucky if he can win his constituency during the election, as the opposition party is working hard to ensure he loses.
He said: "I’m definitely sure he will not come back as Senate president. If he’s lucky, he gets his seat because we would work against him until he losses.
“Quote me, we would do everything possible to see that he losses his seat. It is not even the issue of becoming the Senate president. It’s a challenge I’m giving him."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Saraki expressed confidence in the ability of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to meet up with the yearning of people on job creation if elected.
