Paul Pogba's brother claims the Frenchman considered leaving United under Jose Mourinho

Paul Pogba’s brother has revealed that the French World Cup winner was keen to leave Man United due to constant disagreement with Jose Mourinho.

According to The Mirror citing Telefoot, Pogba, who was relegated to the sub’s bench in the latter stages of the Portuguese tenure arrived Old Trafford at £89m as the club’s most expensive player.

Pogba has now found his way back into United’s good book under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, netting six times and creating five assists in eight EPL matches under the Norwegian.

Responding to a question if Pogba taught about quitting Old Trafford under Mourinho, his brother, Mathias, said: “Of course. It comes into your mind.

“But today he is where he is. He was under contract so he had to grit his teeth and keep working,” he stressed.

Interestingly, the former Juventus star is now among the top performers and has continued to play important role for the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer-tutored side, who are within two points of the top-four, a remarkable difference from when Mourinho was axed in December 2018.

Meanwhile, Juan Mata has applauded Pogba’s performance against Leicester after providing Marcus Rashford the ‘killer pass’ that lead to his goal's goal on Sunday, which ensured the Red Devils now have nine wins and a draw under Solskjaer.

“What can you say about our goal against Leicester?” said Mata. “A spectacular pass from Paul and a great finish from Marcus.

“It wasn’t the most eye-catching of games, but we continue on our good run of form which has allowed us to climb up the table and we want more. We want to keep winning to get into the top four.

"We know it will be difficult, because our opponents are also playing at a top level, but we will give everything until the very end to get there.
