Real Madrid closed the gap with second-placed Atletico Madrid to two points after claiming a 3-0 win over Alaves in a La Liga clash on Sunday, February 3, at the Santiago Bernabéu.

French forward Karim Benzema’s 18th goal of the season opened the net for the Los Blancos before the pair of Vinicius Junior and substitute Mariano Diaz added two more goals in the last 10 minutes to seal the victory.

The performance saw the Galaticos claim their fourth consecutive La Liga win and fifth successive win across in all competitions.

And will be looking forward to topple City rivals Atletico when they clash next weekend.

Alaves came into the contest with seven defeat in 21 league games this term and seventh on the log before hostilities commenced.

In the 80th minute Vinicius scored Real Madrid's second off an assist from Asensio. Despite having a goal ruled out earlier for offside, Alvaro Odriozola, who was a sub in the game provided Mariano a wonderful assist for to seal the win for Los Blancos in the added time.
