Presidential aide reveals how helicopter crash involving Osinbajo happened

- Babafemi Ojudu thanked Nigerians for their concern and love after the helicopter crash incident

- The presidential aide described their survival as a miracle

- He noted that vice president Osinbajo asked them to continue with their plan after it was confirmed there were no injuries

Babafemi Ojudu who is a political adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed how the helicopter crash involving vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo occurred.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, February 3, Ojudu who was part of the delegation with the vice president recalled on they crash-landed in Kabba on Saturday, February 2.

The presidential aide said it was a miracle they survived noting that the safety belt helped them.

He applauded security operatives to rushed to their aide and thanked all Nigerians for their concern and show of love.

He wrote: “To family , friends and associates thank you all for your concern and show of love and affection. I can’t thank you enough. It was a miracle we survived. The belts did a marvelous job and so were the security men on ground who quickly pulled us out of the wreckage not minding their own safety.

“We were also calm all through the ordeal. There was no panic of any kind. The immediate concern of all of us was the safety of our principal. We ensured he got out first. He too ensured we were all out before going into a vehicle. When we were all safely in the bus he insisted the assignment must go on and we drove to the palace of Obaro of Kabba. The Kabba people gave us a warm welcome and showered us with prayers. We thank them all.

“Above all God must be praised for providing us that umbrella of protection and prevented the helicopter from exploding in flames.”

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday, February 2, joined Nigerians in expressing happiness that the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, survived a helicopter crash on his way to Kogi state.

Atiku, who posted his reaction on his social media handle, said: “Dear vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, I just received news of the crash of your helicopter in Kabba, Kogi state. I am happy to note, however, that all is well with you and your delegation.”

In a very short reaction, the president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, expressed gratitude to God that the vice president survived the incident.
