Denis Suarez, Arsenal new signing is set to start against Manchester City in Sunday’s Premier League clash, says Gunners boss Unai Emery.

According to a UK Sun report, Emery is backing his compatriot to hit the ground running despite joining Arsenal on January 30, in a loan switch that will keep him at north London until the end of the campaign.

"I know the player, he started to train yesterday and today with the group.

"I think he is good, he adapts quickly and he is a player with quality,” noted Emery.

The 47-year-old tactician managed Suarez at La Liga side Sevilla and os upbeat the centre-midfielder will help Arsenal protect their top four target at the end of the season.

"He can help us with his quality but also his ambition to do something important here.

"It's a good challenge for him to help us.

"First thing is the language and he can speak English which is important.

"He played at Manchester City when he was a young player, he played with Barcelona in the Champions League with important players so his adaption will be easier with us,” Emery summed up.

Interestingly, Arsenal go into Sunday’s cracker at Etihad 10 points adrift of their hosts Manchester City, who are keen on reducing the five point difference between them and league leaders Liverpool.

Earlier, reported that Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Denis Suarez from Barcelona on a short term loan deal until the end of the Premier League season.
