Former president Olusegun Obasanjo is meeting political party leaders, as well as security chiefs of Ogun state behind closed doors, according to a report by Sahara Reporters.
The meeting which reportedly began on Saturday afternoon, February 2, is taking place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Present at the meeting are: Wale Egunleti, chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Ogun; Gboyega Isiaka, governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC); Chief Jide Ojuko, zonal director of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Campaign Council in Ogun West, and Ayo Olubori, Ogun state caretaker secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the public relations officer of the Ogun state police command and other security chiefs were also represent.
The meeting is said to have been convened at the instance of the former president.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that ex-president Obasanjo on Thursday, January 31, denied ever threatening to ensure that Nigeria is divided if President Muhammadu Buhari rigs the 2019 presidential election scheduled to hold on February 16.
Obasanjo said this in a statement released by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, arguing that as a Nigerian who fought for the unity of the country, he remains a believer in the country’s oneness.

“I am a strong believer in non-divisibility of Nigeria.
“I read a couple of days ago in the social media a statement ascribed to me that if Buhari rigs the election, I will fight to divide Nigeria. Those who know me will know that such a statement will never come from me,” the former president said.
