- The president reportedly postponed the rally due to the crisis rocking the APC in the state
President Muhammadu Buhari has postponed his presidential campaign rally slated for February 3, 2019 in Zamfara state.
Daily Trust reports that the president reportedly cancelled his planned visit to Zamfara due to the political crisis currently rocking the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC candidates names were missing from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)'s list of candidates for the governorship and State House of Assembly election which was released earlier roday.
Recall that the APC has vowed to field candidates in Zamfara and Rivers states despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s decision barring it from doing so.
The APC national publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated this on Thursday, January 31, in Abuja, Vanguard reports.

He claimed that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party did not conduct primaries in Kano state and INEC did not disqualify its candidates.
