Maurizio Sarri has asked for forgiveness from angry Chelsea fan who ‘attacked’ him after Bournemouth thrashing on Wednesday night.

According to a UK Sun report, the 60-year-old football tactician was stopped by some Chelsea fans outside the Vitality Stadium, to inform the Italian of their disappointment with the team.

Sarri was also confronted by other angry Chelsea fans as he was heading to a waiting car on Wednesday night after deciding not to travel back on the team coach.

But one of the fans wanted to know why he was unable to motivate some of his players during the embarrassing defeat

He further stressed that Chelsea’s performance was “disgusting” and termed it the “worst performance he has ever seen”.

The Italian has publicly confessed he is battling to pass his instructions to squad members in their bid to finish in the top four.

Sarri braced the odds and confronted the aggrieved fan to hear his complaints.

And after listening to what the fan had to say, he tendered his sincere apologies, saying sorry repeatedly before shaking hands and taking his leave on good terms.

Interestingly, during the match Sarri was booed by Blues fans when he decided to substitute Gonzalo Higuain, with Chelsea down by two goals.

Equally, the fans showed they were unhappy with Chelsea style of play as chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” was heard across the Vitality Stadium, six months into Sarri’s tenure as Blues in charge.

The Italian will be looking forward to improve Chelsea’s fortune after two successive Premier League defeats that has seen them drop out in the top four race.
