The All Progressive Congress has reacted to the performance and promises of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, during a town hall meeting programme tagged The Candidates.

The ruling party, addressing journalists through its national publicity secretary, Lanre Isa-Onilu, on Thursday, January 31, said there is no way the PPD can ride its way into the hearts of Nigerians again because the country cannot afford to return to Egypt, Daily Trust reports.

It would be recalled that during the town hall event hosted by BBC journalist Ahmed Kadaria, Atiku and his vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi, broadly spoke on the state of economy, the lingering security challenges bedeviling the country, promising to wheel in positive changes if elected.

Atiku also promised to give amnesty to past office holders, and complete Niger bridge. But in reaction to Atiku's amnesty promises, APC warned Nigerians against voting a party and candidates whose slogan is "Let’s loot Nigeria again.”

Isa-Onilu also berated Atiku for lacking the master plan to drive the country to its land of promise, adding that APC would not allow PDP take Nigeria to another "dangerous routes'' of less effective policies.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the APC attacked Atiku over his plans to grant amnesty to those who looted the nation’s commonwealth but willing to return the loots.

The party said Atiku’s plan has vindicated its stance that the PDP candidate is only interested in returning the country to the era where sharing of national wealth was the order of the day. The ruling party said the PDP candidate did not hide his intention to give a red carpet to those people who “wickedly teamed up” with the PDP to ruin the country.
