Shehu Sani, SERAP react to Atiku’s plan to grant amnesty to looters

- Senator Shehu Sani and the Socio-Economic Right And Accountability Project (SERAP) have reacted to Atiku Abubakar's plan to grant amnesty to corrupt persons in Nigeria

- SERAP said that if the Atiku's bid is carried out, corruption in the country will be on the increase in the country

- In his reaction, Shehu Sani said Atiku's plan is much like calling on criminals to come and invest in the country

Senator Shehu Sani (Kaduna central) alongside the Socio-Economic Right And Accountability Project (SERAP) have decried the proposal of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s presidential candidate, to grant amnesty to corrupt persons in the country who are willing to surrender all they have looted.

On his part, the senator said that Atiku's plan can be equated to a call to criminals to come and invest in Nigeria, adding that corrupt persons in Nigeria see the nation as their safe haven.

Supporting Senator Shehu Sani's position, SERAP said that this policy will only make criminals in the country bolder. The group insisted that corrupt persons in the country will be brought to book with no escape from justice.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Atiku had decried the policies of the present administration and detailed his plan for the country if he emerges victorious after the much-awaited February 16 election.

Atiku listed 13 top policies he intends to effect if he is voted into power in the coming presidential poll, Vanguard reports.

The presidential candidate said that Nigerians have suffered serious employment under the current administration.
