Wole Badmus, the coordinator of the Forum of Non-Governmental Organisation in Nigeria (FONGON), has said that a corrupt judge could kill a healthy nation. Badmus urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to relent in his anti-graft war, Daily Trust reports.
Leading other local organisations in a protest in Abuja on Wednesday, January 30, Badmus said that they are in support of the programmes and policies of the President Buhari “especially on the bold step he (Buhari) took in suspending former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen”.
He said the groups, consisting of 200 non-governmental organisations, were in support of Buhari’s anti-corruption efforts.
Badmus said: “We want to say that the president should not mind the naysayers and those saying things for political reasons. People are impressed with the objective and sincere approach of the president.
“We want to say that we are solidly behind him and come February 16 we would mobilise enormous support to make sure he gets his second term. A corrupt judge is worse than a corrupt disease. A corrupt judge will kill a healthy nation.
