Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday, January 30, said that election rigging is the worst kind of corruption in Nigeria, The Guardian.
Atiku, speaking at The Candidate, a political forum, said that the only way to bring about a lasting solution to corruption related to polls in Nigeria is to establish an election fraud commission.
He added that automating all the processes whereby works can be done without having to see officials in person will reduce corruption.
He recalled that he once lent the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) the sum of N300 million from the proceeds of privatisation at a time when the agency could not begin operations due to lack of funds.

The PDP flag bearer claimed that he once financially empowered not less than 45,000 women in Adamawa with the assistance of a microfinance bank, adding that the only way to salvage Nigerians from penury is to give financial independence to women.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Atiku had decried the present administration and detailed his plan for the country if he emerges victorious after the much-awaited February 16 election.
Atiku listed 13 top policies he intends to effect if he is voted into power in the coming presidential poll.
The presidential candidate said that Nigerians have suffered serious employment under the current administration.
