The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has blamed former president Olusegun Obasanjo for presiding over the ceding of the oil rich Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon, adding that this had brought hardship on the people of Bakassi.
The APC national chairman made the comment at the APC Presidential Campaign Rally inside the U.J Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River on Wednesday, January 30, NAN reports.
Legit.ng gathers that he said:“Former president Obasanjo ceded Bakassi to Cameroon because he wanted to get a Nobel Peace Prize. But unfortunately for him, such prizes are not given to traitors.
“He ceded Bakassi and made residents in that area to become refugees in their homeland."
Oshiomhole also stated that President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term in view of his giant strides in office.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole accused former president Olusegun Obasanjo of plotting to rule Nigeria by proxy.
Oshiomhole made this statement in Kano while welcoming hundreds of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, who defected into the ruling party at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
The APC national chairman who made the statement while reacting to Obasanjo's claim that PDP will defeat APC in 2019, urged Nigerians not to hand the nation to opportunists during the election.
