2 feared dead, vehicles burnt as petrol tanker explodes in Lagos
Tragedy struck on Wednesday morning, January 30, when a truck loaded with 33,000 litres of petroleum product fell at Barracks bus stop, along Mile 2/Badagry expressway, Ojo area of Lagos.
The truck was said to have spilled its content on the ground and triggered wildfire, The Guardian reports.
Legit.ng gathers that no fewer than two people lost their lives in the unfortunate incident, which also had five vehicles burnt.

According to report, police officials, fire service personnel and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are on ground for rescue operation.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that fire gutted a 14-storey building in Marina, Lagos Island, which belonged to United African Company (UAC), leaving staff stranded amid the loss of personal properties and important files, on Thursday, January 24.
The fire started around 12pm from the 10th floor of the building, shattering glasses and razing down the properties worth millions of naira.
No one was in the building when the fire started. Eyewitness disclosed that the first two fire service trucks that arrived the scene were unable to quench the fire because they lacked long pipes that could get to the 10th floor.
It was also gathered that the officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) were also at the scene of the fire, as staff of the organisation were evacuated, watching the building down into the wild flames where they stood downstairs.
An eyewitness recounted: “No one was in the building before the fire escalated.”
A staff of the company expressed concern over the loss of her properties, adding that during the fire outbreak, personal and other private properties were also lost to fire.
In another previous report by Legit.ng, some Lagos residents revealed how they escaped death by the whisker in the tanker explosion which occurred on Thursday, June 28, on Otedola Bridge in the Berger area of the state.
No fewer than nine lives and 54 vehicles were lost to the disaster which occurred when the fuel tanker went up in flames after the driver lost control.

Four people sustained serious injuries and received treatment in hospitals.
Among the scores of people who got caught in the middle of the incident but cheated death is the mother of a three-year old boy, Eyitayo.
