Leroy Sane is upbeat Manchester City are ready to ‘fight’ Liverpool to the finish in their bid to defend the Premier League silverware they won last season.
According to The Mirror, the Pep Guardiola tutored-side will reduce Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League log to one point, if they emerge victorious in tonight’s game at Newcastle as Liverpool will not be in action until on Wednesday when they host Leicester at Anfield.
“I think it’s kind of more enjoyable because it motivates you to say we want to be first, we can put pressure on them and it makes you want to work harder.
“Liverpool have a lot of players with a lot of experience. Even last season, they reached the Champions League final, so they know how to do it.

“We all know what we did last season, we’re still doing it this season and we all know exactly what we have to do and that’s the important thing,” noted Sane, who is quick to comparison with ex-Manchester United icon Ryan Giggs.
"Comparing him [Giggs] to me, I can’t do it at all," said Sane.
He added: "If you see the kind of player he was, he’s a legend for Manchester United and the Premier League.
"How he played was special and how many titles he won, I’m not nearly there!
"Obviously I’m pleased that people do it, because it means I’m doing some things well and I’m really happy about it.”
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester City have reportedly agreed a €13m deal for Rabbi Matondo to join German League side Schalke O4.
The youngster is the latest British youngster seekng greener pasture in the German League after Jadon Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017.
According to UK Telegraph, both City and the Bundesliga side are due to announce the deal in the next few days after agreeing personal terms.
