Virgil van Dijk has not trained with the rest of the squad since falling ill during Liverpool’s training camp in Dubai last week as Jurgen Klopp wait for news on his availability from club’s medics.

“[A couple of players] are ill. So, that’s the weather change, little things. No, it’s nothing we have to be too concerned about,” admitted the German tactician in a move to play down the illness.

However, the Dutch international was missing in training on Monday night at Melwood, but still has Tuesday’s final session to prove he is ready to go against the Foxes.

Klopp will be looking at Croatian ace Dejan Lovren to partner Joel Matip in Liverpool’s starting XI if the Dutchman fails to recover.

Interestingly, Brazilian ace Fabinho took part in Monday’s training session despite suffering same illness as Van Dijk and could play at right-back with the pair of Trent Alexander-Arnold and James Milner out of Wednesday’s cracker.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Liverpool have opened talks for Brescia youngster Sandro Tonali ‘dubbed’ the next Andrea Pirlo after getting positive reviews from scouts.

According to Daily Mail citing Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the Premier League giants have been keeping close tabs on the £30m-rated midfielder, who is also on the radar of top European clubs.

The report further claim that Reds chiefs have already commenced discussions with Serie B side Brescia over the 18-year-old Tonali.
