Rabbi Matondo set to join Schalke in a £11.29m deal from Man City

- Rabbi Matondo could be on his way to German League side from Man City this month

- Both clubs are said to have agreed a deal of about £11.29m for the teenage sensation

- The Welsh international could join former teammate Jadon Sancho, who currently plays for Dortmund in the Bundesliga

Manchester City have reportedly agreed a €13 million deal to allow Wales youth international Rabbi Matondo join German League side Schalke O4.

The youngster is the latest British football hoping to seek greener pasture in the German League after Jadon Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017.

According to UK Telegraph, both City and the Bundesliga side are due to announce the deal in the next few days after agreeing personal terms.

If his deal is done in time, the teenager might face the Citizens in the Champions League round of 16 next month.

Matondo made his national team debut under Ryan Giggs against Albania in November after getting his career started at the Etihad Stadium.

Unlike Giggs, who spent his entire career at Old Trafford with a number of titles both on the continent and domestically.

Borussia Monchengladbach, RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim are all said to be interested in the youngster but it was Schalke that showed the willingness to meet the player's valuation.

The Telegraph further stated that AC Milan are also keen to tap into the talented new generation of English players and wanted to sign Matondo.

The teenager has been liken to City's top star Raheem Sterling, adding that he is one of the quickest of City’s professionals.

He is yet to make his senior team debut under Pep Guardiola, unlike contemporaries Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund and Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is heavily wanted by Bayern Munich.

Matondo was acquired by Manchester City from Cardiff City at 16 for a fee above the Elite Player Performance Plan tariffs.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Spanish youth international Brahim Diaz has agreed to join Real Madrid when the transfer window opens.

The midfielder has not featured in the League for the Premier League champions this season and will sign a £60,000-a-week deal with Los Blancos.

According to the report by UK Sun, Pep Guardiola wants to keep the 19-year-old at the Etihad stadium, but Brahim Diaz is said to be frustrated with lack of active playing time at the club.
