Nigerian superstar Davido recently held his concert at the popular O2 Arena in London. After putting up a successfully sold out show, fans of superstar singer, Wizkid, have come out to say he achieved the milestone first.
It has always been common knowledge that there is a strong rivalry between the two champions of African music. However, despite the rivalry, they have managed to maintain what can be described as a healthy relationship.
However, following Davido’s latest success with his O2 Arena concert, fans of the two singers took to social media in a bid to pit both singers’ successes against each other. Hundreds of social media fans belonging to team Wizkid and team Davido took to social media to reaffirm the boss status of their preferred artist.
Moments after videos from the Assurance crooner’s sold out show hit the internet, fans from Wizkid’s camp were sure to remind Davido’s fan that Wizkid had sold out the prestigious venue first. They went as far as describing Wizkid’s past as the Davido’s present. See some of the reactions from both musicians fan base below:
Some fans that were on a more neutral side were bothered about the reason for the unnecessary comparison between both singers. Some queried as to why Wizkid had been dragged into what should have been a moment of celebration for Davido.

A particular Twitter user, who could not understand the reason for the comparison, posted a video in which Davido himself had revealed that, he was inspired to sell out the O2 after his brother Wizkid had set the first record.
Davido in response to all the comparisons had also taken to his Twitter page to express that it did not matter who did it first. See his tweet below:
A & R guru Bizzle Osikoya had in turn commended Davido for looking way beyond what the fans were trying to do.
At the end of the day, it becomes evident that despite the efforts fans to put a rift between the musical acts, they have only both existed within the confines of healthy competition, which in fact, is necessary in any industry.
Perhaps, it is high time the fan base of both acts come together and realize, that these bags of talent are only both focused on making good music and giving African music a worldwide recognition.
