- Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, has been accused of failing to achieve anything in the state since assuming office in 2015
- The allegation was made against the governor by an All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the state
- Emmanuel Jime said Ortom is running his government on propaganda and Fulani herdsmen killings
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state, Emmanuel Jime, has accused the governor of the state, Samuel Ortom, of running his government based on propaganda.
Jime said the governor has nothing to show for the four years he has been in office as the governor of Benue state.
Speaking during a reception organised in his honour by Nats Apir, the APC governorship candidate said Ortom is running his government on propaganda and Fulani herdsmen killings rather than showcasing to the people of Benue what he had achieved.
Punch reports that Jime said the people of Benue would not allow Ortom to continue in office beyond 2019.
"The reason the APC will win the governorship election in the state is because I have the ability and intellectual capacity to develop the state.
“I will not go into government to boost my private business. We will put our state into consideration first," Jime said.
