Djibril Yattara who was Guinea's first choice goalkeeper at the 2015 FIFA Under 17 World Cup in Chile is dead after battling with unknown illness for weeks in Conakry.
His untimely demise has however thrown the entire Guinea football fraternities into shock and serious mourning considering how good and promising the career of the goalie was.
Until the death of Djibril Yattara, he was playing for the reserve of Horoya AC which is a Guinean football club based in Conakry.
Djibril Yattara was said to have been buried according to Islamic rite on Saturday, January 26, at the cemetery of Cameroon, municipality of Dixinn.
The Guinean Football Federation are also reported to have sent the family of the deceased their condolences over the shocking death of Djibril.
At the Under 17 World Cup in Chile where Djibril Yattara had his last international outing, Guinea crashed out in the Group stages of the competition.
They forced England to a 1-1 draw in their first game before losing 1-0 against South Korea in their second game and also lost third game 3-1 against Brazil.
Nigeria were the champions of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup in Chile when they defeated Mali in the final of the championship.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Nigerian sports family were thrown into mourning following the death of the publisher of Gong News, Jide Fashikun.
Though, the reason for his death is yet to be known but the news was confirmed by one of his close friends Nneka Ikem Anibeze on Facebook.
According to Nneka, Jide last posted a story on his online platform on January 19 before he died in an Abuja hospital on Sunday, January 27.
