Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Christian Eriksen has emerged as a major summer target for Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Premier League clubs will however face competition from Spanish League outfit Real Madrid who are hoping to strengthen their squad this summer.

UK Metro quoting The Express reports that Spurs are demanding a whopping £200 million for Denmark international.

Eriksen's current deal with the Lilywhites expires in the summer of 2020 and it is unsure iSpurs will hand him new contract to keep him at the club beyond then.

The publication further reveals that the duo of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the midfielder's situation before making a move.

Reports in the UK claims that Eriksen's efforts to commit his future to Spurs have previously been dealt with a blow as new deal is yet to be agreed.

On his part, Spurs' boss, Mauricio Pochettino, has made public his desire to keep the 26-year-old at the club longer.

"Christian is a very clever person and of course there’s going to be a decision from him, from the club, from different parts and I hope he can be committed to the club long-term," the UK Metro quoted the Argentine tactician.

"We hope that he can be here for a long time. I think Christian is a fantastic player," he added.

United are understood to be keen to make a slew of new signings in the summer once they find a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho who was sacked in December 2018.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, wants the club to back him in his pursuit to revamp his squad at Stamford Bridge.

There have been serious uncertainty over the future of the 26-year-old Danish football star at Premier League side Tottenham with Barcelona said to be eyeing a move for him.

But according to the report by Diario AS, Christian Eriksen prefers to make a move to the reigning European League champions.
