Lady loses master's admission and scholarship due to the ongoing ASUU strike

- A Facebook user identified as Nwede Chiamaka Stella Maris has shared details of a missed opportunity to advance her education

- According to her, she won a scholarship to study at a university in Cape Town, South Africa but lost it because she could not submit her complete transcript

- She blamed it on the on-going Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike

A young lady identified as Nwede Chiamaka Stella Maris on Facebook has shared how her dreams of furthering her education got truncated due to the on-going ASUU strike.

Nwede shared that she went through the pain of applying for scholarship and managed to secure one to study a master's degree program at University of Cape Town, South Africa but lost it alongside the admission because she could not submit her complete transcript and the lecturer which she put up as reference disappointed her.

She blamed the loss on the on-going ASSU trike which has kept both students and lecturers locked in their homes and unable to carry on school activities for several weeks.

Meanwhile, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has urged members of the public to refute the fast growing insinuation that it is a strike-loving organisation, adding that its demand from the government is purely for the progress of education sector.

The need, it was gathered, was expedient following the wide condemnation from the public on the lingering strike action embarked upon by the body, The Punch reports.
