It was an hour of pandemonium at Marina, Lagos Island on Thursday, January 24, as fire gutted a 14-storey building, which belonged to United African Company (UAC), leaving staff stranded amid the loss of personal property and important files.

The Guardian reports that the fire started around 12pm from the 10th floor of the building, shattering glasses and razing down the property worth million of naira.

Legit.ng gathers that no one was in the building when the fire started, with eye witness disclosing that the first two fire service trucks that arrived the scene were unable to quench the fire because they lacked long pipes that could get to the 10th floor.
