Rectify errors in 2019 Budget - Lawmakers tell minister

- The minister of budget and national planning has been asked by the House of Reps to fix the errors in the 2019 budget

- The lawmakers said the budget is riddled with errors that can't be overlooked

- Dogara has asked relevant committees to work with the budget office to correct the errors

Members of the House of Representatives have asked the minister of budget and national planning to correct some irreconcilable differences in figures presented in the 2019 budget with immediate effect.

This Day reports that two lawmakers, Adamu Chika (Niger state) and Hon. Ahmad Patigi (Kwara state) pointed out that the budget was riddled with errors.

Deputy speaker, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, while presiding over Tuesday, January 22, plenary said there were some discrepancies in figure and wordings of the budget.

While reacting to the errors, speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, asked the relevant committees to work with the budget office to correct the errors.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the House of Representatives on Tuesday, January 22, stepped down the second reading of the 2019 Appropriation Bill for a second time.

The House said the decision was to enable members to properly study the bill before the commencement of the debate on it.
