- Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain has landed in England to undergo medicals at the club's training center
- The 31-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Sarri last summer
- Both Higuain and Maurizio Sarri worked together while at Napoli for three seasons before the striker joined Juventus in 2016
Gonzalo Higuain is close to sealing a loan move to Chelsea this month after arriving in England to undergo medical at the club.
The Argentine forward has been repeatedly linked with a move to re-unite with his former boss Maurizio Sarri but this time at the Stamford Bridge.
Both Sarri and Higuain worked together at Napoli where the 31-year-old scored scored 71 times in 104 topflight appearances after three seasons.
However, the Juventus star on loan at AC Milan might be completing the rest of this season in the Premier League should both parties agree a deal according to SunSport.
It is no more news that Sarri is desperately searching for a replacement for the duo of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud who have been under-impressive since he arrived last August.
The Blues are hoping they can sort Higuain's deal out before midday on Wednesday in a bid to register him for their EFL Cup semi-final second leg clash against Tottenham on Thursday night.
Chelsea are not willing to take chances having lost the first leg by a lone goal courtesy of Harry Kane's spot kick at Wembley earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata will have to start looking for a new destination once Higuain's deal becomes done and dusted.
The Spaniard has also been linked with a move to join Atletico Madrid on loan until the end of the season.
Blues boss Sarri is hopeful the Argentina international will put an end to his side's mysteries in front of goal, with the Blues having scored just four goals in their last five games.
AC Milan are on the verge of completing a £30 million deal for Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek, which has paved the way for Higuain's move to Chelsea.
The Serie A side have reportedly agreed a fee to sign the forward who only joined Genoa in the summer.

Piatek, who has netted 13 league goals this season, is expected in Milan on Wednesday for a medical ahead of signing a lucrative five-year deal.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea are hoping to complete the signing of Gonzalo Higuain ahead of next week transfer deadline.
The forward touched down in London on Tuesday morning, January 22, and he is expected to seal his loan move to Stamford Bridge after his parent club, Juventus, agreed a deal with the Blues.
According to a UK Metro report, Higuian is keen on signing the contract in time so he can feature in Chelsea's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Spurs on Thursday, January 24.
