Former PDP chairman, others decamp to APC in Yobe

- A former PDP chairman, Lawan Gana Karasuwa, has dumped the party with other supporters to All progressive Congress (APC) in Yobe state

- This is coming with a few weeks to the beckoning hours of the 2019 general elections

- Karasuwa, justifying his defection, said he and other defectors were fascinated by the achievements of APC at all levels

With a few weeks to the general elections, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seems not to have left behind the defection rocking it as a former chairman, Lawan Gana Karasuwa, dumped the party with other supporters to All progressive Congress (APC) in Yobe state.

Daily Trust reports that that a one time senatorial candidate Mairo Amshi and his supporters of also left the party to the ruling party and were received by Governor Ibrahim Gaidam on Tuesday, January 20, at APC zonal campaign rally for Yobe north, in Gashua town.

Justifying their defection, the former PDP chairman said they were fascinated by the tide of achievements recorded by the ruling party across all government levels, adding that they were willing to work towards the emergence of the party in the forthcoming elections.

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, who received the defectors, thanked them for considering the ruling party worth of joining.

H advised party loyalists and defectors to respect the rules and interest of the party and also work for its success in the forthcoming election.

Also, the governorship candidate of the APC in Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, promised to run all inclusive government if elected the governor in the state come February 2019.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe state, Adamu Yaro Gombe, had announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While addressing newsmen after meeting with his supporters, AY Gombe, as he was popularly known, said he and over 10,000 loyalists under the AY Support Group across the eleven local government areas of the state decided to dump the PDP due to the coordination in the party.
