Kebbi APC awaits Buhari's visit, makes firm promises ahead of polls

- President Muhammadu Buhari is to visit Kebbi state on Wednesday, January 23, for his presidential campaign

- This was revealed by the wife of the state governor, Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu, on Tuesday, January 22

- Zainab vows that the supporters of the APC in the state will double their votes given to President Buhari back in 2015

According to the wife of the Kebbi state governor, Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu, President Muhammadu Buhari will be visiting the state on Wednesday, January 23, for his presidential campaign, Leadership reports.

Speaking on Tuesday, January 22, Zainab, who is also the zonal coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s women and youth presidential campaign team, for north west, said that Kebbi is already a state of the party.

She added that the state is ready to double the votes dedicated to the president in 2015. She said: “I wish to inform you that Kebbi State is President Muhammadu Buhari’s home because he is our father and Kebbi State is unanimously for APC. Therefore, we are all out and ready for his tomorrow’s visit.”

The state first lady said the structures organised by the Buhari-led government is enviable and set a standard for future leaders in the country. She, therefore, urged all supporters of the party in the state to come out in large numbers and welcome the president.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that President Buhari was unable to give his prepared speech as a large crowd overwhelmed security at the venue of his election campaign in Jos on Saturday, January 19.

The president was reported to have taken almost 30 minutes to reach his seat after arriving the Rwang Pam stadium.

The crowd, believed to be supporters of the president's party, surged toward the podium while some climbed the top of vehicles in the entourage of the president.
