Godiya Akwashiki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Nasarawa north senatorial district has advised the electorate against selling their votes during the 2019 general elections.
Akwashiki, who is also the deputy speaker, state House of Assembly, gave the advice on Tuesday, January 22, in Wamba as he addressed APC supporters at Kwarra and Arum-Sarki electoral wards, Wamba local government area of Nasarawa state, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
Akwashiki, who represents Nasarawa Eggon west constituency in the state Assembly also urged the people to vote massively for President Muhammadu Buhari and APC candidates during the 2019 elections.
He said: “A vote for President Buhari and other APC candidates is a vote for progress and development of our country.
“You have seen what President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Tanko Al-Makura have done to better the lives of the people of the state and Nigerians at large.
“It is in view of this that I urge you to vote President Buhari and all other APC candidates during the forthcoming elections.
“On my part, the people of my constituency and the state at large can testify to what I have done, from 2011 to date, to better the standard of living of my people.“
The APC senatorial candidate promised quality representation if elected to the red chamber February 16.
Akwashiki further assured the people of the senatorial zone that he would continue to embark on people-oriented projects to fight poverty, unemployment and to boost their socio-economic welfare.
He urged the party supporters and Nigerians at large to shun violence before, during and after the general elections.

NAN reports that APC stakeholders who spoke during the rally commended the leadership style of Akwashiki.
They, however, expressed the belief that the candidate would not disappoint the zone in particular and the state at large, if elected.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the speaker of Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, has promised to deliver 90% votes for President Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
He gave the assurance in his home town of Umaisha, Toto local government area, while addressing newsmen at the commencement of his second round of campaign tagged Meet the Electorate One on One, on Sunday, January 20.
