The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, on Tuesday, January 22, claimed that Christians who supported President Muhammadu Buhari are being marginalised in his state.
The senator made the disclosure in reaction to claims by President Buhari who said northerners once ruled against him while Christians supported him.
President Buhari had made the claim when he hosted some of his former staff who worked with him when he was the military head of state.
Reacting to the president’s comment, Senator Sani commended the president for acknowledging those who stood by him.
He wrote on social media: “The president is courageous to reveal those who stood for him in his trying moments in the past. But the truth is that the Muslims masses also stood for him in the past; another truth is that the Christians ‘who supported him’ are currently being marginalized in my state using his name.”
Meanwhile, with less than one month to the presidential election, an independent campaign platform which cuts across party, civil society groups, ethnic and religious leanings has unveiled its plans to embark on massive grassroots campaign for President Buhari.
This was made known in a press briefing held in Abuja by Alhaji Abdulkarim Dayyabu, alongisde the governor of Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara state who is the chairman of the group.
The group known as Forward With Buhari, says President Muhammadu Buhari remains the best man for the job of moving Nigeria forward.
