The ruling on the bail application of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, has again been adjourned by the Kaduna state high court to Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
The defence and prosecuting counsels stated that the adjournment was due to the absence of Zakzaky and his wife in court over security concerns because of Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to the state on Thursday, October 4.
The hearing had earlier been fixed to today, October 4, following the written application filed by El-Zakzaky's counsel during the last sitting on August 2, 2018.
In a related development, the detained leader of the IMN, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, who had been in Nigerian custody since 2015 after clashes between troops and his followers, made a rare public appearance in court on Tuesday, May 15, to face criminal charges.
