French World Cup winner Ousmane Dembele has been ruled out of action for 15 days with an ankle sprain after undergoing medial observation.
According to Barcelona’s official twitter handle, the Frenchman suffered the injury in Sunday's win over Kenneth Omeruo’s Leganes, netting the opener scoring and as well as providing assists during his 69 minutes stay on the pitch.
Initially, Dembele appeared to have suffered double injury, but was fortunate to learn that it was only his ankle.
The France international is now expected to sit out both legs of the Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Sevilla and La Liga fixtures against Girona and Valencia.

The Frenchman is expected to stage a return in the Copa del Rey semifinal stage if Barcelona continue their winning run.
But could return against Athletic Bilbao at San Mames if things don’t work out for the Camp Nou dwellers.
Interestingly, Dembele was in superlative form for the Catalan side before the injury, but will not have the opportunity to play again for the next 2 weeks.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Barcelona defeated visiting Leganes 3-1 at the Nou Camp on Sunday, January 20, to maintain their top position on the standings.
Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo started for Leganes against Barcelona and he was in good form for his side.
Barcelona scored their first goal through Ousmane Dembele in the 32nd minute in which Leganes' goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar had no answer for.
