Barcelona youngster Moriba has reportedly emerged as a late transfer target for Premier League side Chelsea who are ready to lure the player to Stamford Bridge.

The 16-year-old player has been tagged as the 'new Paul Pogba' and he is also said to be wanted by reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

Moriba has come through Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy and is understood the club feel if he continues his progress, could be considered for first-team action by next season.

But according to Sport, his future at the Nou Camp is far from secured and it is Chelsea who are in the driving seat to sign him and pin him down with a pro deal.

The report added that the Stamford Bridge landlords have already held discussions with Moriba's agents for the possibility of them getting his signature.

It was also claimed that the Blues have promised the agents that their client will be given first team games next season if he moves to the Premier League side.

Chelsea are currently occupying fourth position on the Premier League standings with 47 points after 23 games played this season.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League giants Chelsea completed the signing of 20-year-old American football star Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund for £58 million.

But the winger who had been linked to Liverpool will be loaned back to the Bundesliga side until the end of the ongoing League season in Europe.

Chelsea have beaten a number of Premier League clubs to the signing and the winger will join Maurizio Sarri's men in the summer.
