- Yakubu Dogara has warned against the subversion of the will of the people by INEC and security agencies at the 2019 polls
- The speaker alleged that the APC is perfecting plans to rig the polls with these agencies
- Dogara advised the people of Bauchi state and his loyalists to cast their votes and wait until their votes are counted during the elections
The speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has warned against the subversion of the will of the people by security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the forthcoming general election.
Dogara while speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party's campaign rally in Bununu, Tafawa Balewa local government area of Bauchi state on Sunday, January 20, said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is perfecting plans to rig the polls with these agencies.
The speaker of the House warned that God will disgrace any individual of group of people who would try to subvert the people's will out of office.
He said: “We hear that APC wants to rig the election with the help of INEC and security agencies, but they have forgotten how God dealt with people like them in the past. God will disgrace them out of office just the way Pharaoh and Hitler were disgraced out of office."
“They say all kinds of things against me, but I have done more for Bauchi state than all of them in APC put together. Look around you, is there anything the government has done for you in the last four years?"
He further urged the people of the state and his loyalists to cast their votes and wait until their votes are counted during the elections in Bauchi.
“Recently, I sent some people to rebuild some mosques in this town, but they were stopped because the Chairman said he would be sacked if the mosque was rebuilt. Today, we are receiving over 10,000 defectors.

“Apart from God, nobody gives or takes power. Cast your votes and wait until they are counted, don’t allow them to steal your votes.
“The person sponsoring this is not from Bauchi and he can leave once the environment becomes uncomfortable. He will take his family out of the state, if he is defeated in the election," he said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Dogara had reportedly formed a coalition with six political parties and stakeholders in Bauchi with the major aim of ensuring that Governor Mohammed Abubakar is not re-elected.
The convener of the coalition, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Kirfi, confirmed the development on Sunday, January 20, while speaking with journalists.
Kirfi reportedly said the action was taken after a review of developments in the state and after consultation relating to the poor performance of the APC government in Bauchi state in the last four years.
