President Buhari’s policies are youthfriendly - Tony Nwoye

- The national coordinator of youth mobilisation and strategies, Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation, has said the APC will defeat the PDP in Anambra election

- Tony Nwoye, a former student leader, said youths will vote President Buhari because his policies are youth-friendly

- Anambra youths were asked to vote massively for the re-election of Buhari and shun sentiments on matters bordering on their future

Tony Nwoye, the national coordinator of youth mobilisation and strategies, Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation, says that all policies formulated by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration were youth friendly.

Nwoye made the disclosure when he was addressing some youths at a meeting tagged “Next Level” in Awka on Sunday, January 20, NAN reports. gathers that Nwoye, a former APC governorship candidate in Anambra and onetime national president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), added that Buhari’s policies are youth-friendly.

He said: “Apart from fighting corruption that has reduced drastically, the fight against insurgency and armed bandits in the northeast, the president has also initiated programmes targeted at development of youths."

Nwoye said programmes such as Tradermoni, school feeding programme, transparent recruitment exercise, N-Power programme and the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme (PYES) were all geared towards youth empowerment.

The coordinator asked Anambra youths to vote massively for the re-election of Buhari, urging them to shun sentiments on matters that bordered on their future at the election.

Nwoye urged the youths to put aside party affiliations and give Buhari over 70 % votes in the state to benefit more from government’s lined up programmes for youths.

While expressing confidence that Buhari will win, he said: “APC will disgrace PDP in Anambra in this election, you can take it from me, but we are going to have an organised structure. President has also cautioned against fake news, gossips, negative remarks or acts capable of inciting violence."

Also speaking, the coordinator of Good Governance Ambassadors of Nigeria (GOGAN), Chief Jonhbosco Onunkwo, commended the youth for their large turnout in the meeting.

Onunkwo, who, said that the large turnout showed that they had a stake in the campaign project, called on them to vote for Buhari and all APC candidates in the state.

The youths pledged that what transpired against Buhari in the region in the last elections would not repeat itself with Nwoye as their leader.

Some of the youths, who spoke at the meeting, include the southeast youth leader of APC, Odu Onyeka, former governorship aspirant in the state, Johnbosco Onunkwo, Dozie Ikedife Jr. and Mr Pascal Candle, among others.

Meanwhile, previously reported that the APC governorship candidate in Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma, said that the people of the southeast region had agreed to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.

Uzodinma, who made the claim on Monday, January 14, in Owerri during the unveiling of his governorship manifesto, said it would be the turn of an Igbo man to become president in 2023. ( -> We keep evolving to serve our readers better.
