- Liverpool reportedly tempted Benfica with a £60m bid for wonder-kid Joao Felix but it was rejected
- The 19-year-old plays as an attacking midfielder and is also attracting offers across Europe
- Felix has scored four times in nine matches since he was offered an opportunity to play with the senior team
Premier League leaders Liverpool have reportedly had a £60 m offer for Benfica youngster Joao Felix snubbed.
According to a UK Sun report citing Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha, the 19-year-old, who plays as an attacking midfielder is already attracting offers across Europe after breaking into Benfica first team this campaign.
And Liverpool’s courageous, £60m bid for the wonder kid is far from a reported £105m release clause inserted in Felix new contract with the Portuguese giants and will not be easy to prise away.
The youngster, who can play any role in the attack or behind a striker started his career at rivals Porto, but was axed from their academy due to his size.
Jaoo did not allow the initial setback to affect his game as he continued working hard at Benfica and made his reserves debut at 16 after impressing the coaches..

Felix has netted four times in nine matches since he was offered an opportunity to play with the big boys at Benfica.
Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp was already fallen in love with Felix attacking style and was looking forward to see him improve his free-flowing football at Anfield
However, Benfica have issued a stem warning to Liverpool and other potential suitors to stay clear of the youngster, insisting Felix will be heading to West Ham over the summer.
Liverpool are still hopeful of returning with an improved bid as they intend using the club’s decent financial stand to bring the youngster to the Premier League.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Benfica want Chelsea to cough out a whooping £105 million for star Joao Felix.
The Blues, who are one of the three EPL clubs yet to taste defeat in the league this season have shown interests in signing the star in January according to SunSport.
They are hoping to seal a move for Alvaro Morata's replacement as soon as possible but the heavy buyout clause might force them to step back from the deal.
