Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has urged star midfielder Juan Mata to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
Mata's agent is understood to be gearing up for crunch talks with United over a possible new deal for the midfielder.
The Spaniard's current contract with the Manchester outfit is due to expire at the end of the ongoing season, but Solskjaer is keen to have him stay at the club.
According to a UK Metro report, United triggered a one-year extension clause in Mata’s contract in 2017 and his representatives expected a fresh offer to follow.
However, United's hierarchy has allowed the 30-year-old to enter the final six months of his deal.

On his part, Solskjaer is said to have held one-on-one talks with the former Chelsea midfielder over his future at Old Trafford since taking charge from Jose Mourinho.
Mata's father who also doubles up as his representative is reportedly scheduled to meet United chiefs this week to discuss his son's future with the Red Devils.
The Spanish signed for United at a then-club record of £37.1 million from the Blues in 2014, and has since established himself as an integral figure in the Red Devil's squad.
