The chief of air staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, has officially commissioned 18 x 2 bedroom accommodation built for the force officers at the 551 Nigerian Air Force (NAF) station, which is situated in Jos, Plateau state.
In a statement made available on its Facebook page, the force director of public relation and information, Ibikunle Daramola, said Abubakar, commissioning the project, also charged officers of the Nigerian Air Force to remain focused and professional in performing their duties of protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
Stating the reason for the project, the NAF boss said the 18 x 2 bedroom accommodation was a move geared towards enhancing the welfare of the force personnel to enable them focus on their tasks while spurring them to do more in adding value to the service.
Abubakar also enjoined the beneficiaries of the new housing unit to make the best use of the facility and ensure that the structure was properly maintained.
The NAF boss also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his endless support for the force towards its efforts to curb the festering menace of the Boko Haram insurgents in the northeast part of the country.
He noted that these successes recorded so far would not have been possible without the resolute support of the president.
He said: “We are indeed grateful to the government for this support and promise to continue to sustain our efforts towards enhancing a strong and prosperous nation.”
