Atiku’s campaign DG reportedly dumps PDP for APC - Presidency

Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, alleged that Senator Saidu Umar Kumo, the campaign director to PDP presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress.

Senator Kumo who is from Gombe state is the north-east director general of the PDP's presidential campaign coucil.

His unconfirmed defection is coming on the heels of the defection of a former youth leader of the PDP in Nuku- Sabon Gari ward of Abaji Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Peter Yandu, and 157 other members to the APC.

The former youth leader said he and other members had been in PDP since 1999 but were later abandoned by the party they worked for.

Speaking on Wednesday, January 9, Yandu said since the party had abandoned them, they decided to pitch tent with the ruling APC after series of consultations with some of his former PDP members in the area.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Campaign Council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that some hoodlums are planning to disrupt the Jos campaign rally of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The Plateau state PDP chairman, Damishi Sango, in a statement on Friday, January 11, alleged that the party had gotten credible reports that sponsored thugs were preparing to harass, intimidate and attack PDP officials at a scheduled rally on Saturday, January 12, at the Polo Field, Jos.
