- There was a huge turnout of supporters at APC's rally in Kwara state

- The party's supporters were in high jubilation at the rally organised by Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the party’s governorship candidate in the state

- Abdulrazaq condemned critics of the party and the suffering the state is facing

There was a heavy turnout at the recent Kwara state All Progressive Congress (APC)’s campaign rally which held on Thursday, January 10, in Ilorin which is the state capital, as Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the party’s governorship candidate, led the party’s supporters in preparation for 2019 general elections.

Among the party’s supporters were also residents of the state who sang APC’s campaign slogan (Enough is Enough) with heavy shouts of Sai Buhari as they rode in campaign vehicles to the rally ground, The Nation reports.

Abdulrazaq was reported to have condemned the trouble the state is facing, saying if elected, his government will make sure workers are paid their salaries when due.

He said: “We are committed to end the tyranny in our state. O To Ge! We will ensure workers are paid their dues at the right time. A government that cannot account for trillions of naira of public funds cannot expect to be trusted again."

He also criticised the party’s critics: “Their desperate attempt to incite the public against us has failed. Every student of history understands the role my father, AGF Abdulrazaq (SAN), played in 1955 to convince the Willinks Commission on minorities that Ilorin belonged to the northern region. Where was Saraki in those years? Where is his sense of history?”
