A commercial truck conveying ballot papers was, on Thursday, January 10, discovered by some youths around the Ogoja local government area of Cross River state, who also reportedly apprehended the driver of the vehicle.
It was learnt that the truck was travelling out of the state when it was apprehended.
The Nation reports that the truck, which has an Enugu state registration number, was stopped by the youths in the Egbung community of the state.

The report said the ballot papers were discovered during a routine check of vehicles by members of a taskforce working along the highway in the community.
It quoted a witness as saying immediately the truck was opened, it was found to be loaded with unused ballot papers belonging to Boki local government for 2015 state constituency election.
Other items discovered included computer equipment and documents.
The driver, it was said, claimed he had the instruction of INEC to move them from Calabar where he was reportedly coming from.
“After being interrogated by the task force, he then said he was not certain of his destination as and this raised suspicion and he was apprehended and the police was invited,” the source said.

The report said the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Cross River state, Frankland Briyai, explained that he had been informed concerning the development.
He also said he had reported it to appropriate security agencies for investigation.
Legit.ng earlier reported that the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, was advised by the Senate president, Bukola Saraki, on how to fight against buying of permanent voters cards.
Senator Saraki made the advice in a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu.
