- Liverpool defence-line are currently undergoing injury crisis
- Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren are on the sidelines
- The Reds have turned their attentions to James Tarkowski
Premier League side Liverpool are looking to sign Burnley defender James Tarkowski on loan with the aim to solve their injury crisis.
The Reds need reinforcements in the January transfer window especially in the defence-line where Dejan Lovren recently suffered a hamstring injury in the defeat against Wolves.
The Croatia international has now joined England star Joe Gomez along with Joel Matip on the sidelines.
And according to British news media outlet The Sun, the current league leaders are tending towards Burnley defender Tarkowski on loan.
But the Turf-Moor outfit have insisted on a permanent deal for the defender, slapping a hefty £50million price-tag on the England international.

"Joel is maybe a bit closer. We have to see how the bone healing is, that's always how it is when something has broken, but from his movements it looks nearly normal.

"But there are still a few days to go until we can have them in team training, until [Joel] is ready for contact, which for a centre-half is pretty important.
"Until then we will make all the fitness work. The good thing is Joel can do all the fitness work already since a week ago, so that means when he comes back he will be 100 per cent fit."
