Real Madrid got back to winning ways following their comfortable 3-0 win over Leganes in their Copa del Rey round of 16 first leg match.

Los Blancos came into the match on the backdrop of 2-0 defeat at the hand of Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu last weekend.

But Santiago Solari's side were up to the task as they broke the deadlock from the spot through their captain Sergio Ramos in the 44th minute.

Alvaro Odriozola was clipped from behind in the box after making a brilliant run down the right. Ramos stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 1-0 before half time.

Madrid looked the better team to score in the second half as they deservedly doubled their lead in the 68th minute.

Leganes goalkeeper left his lines as Karim Benzema laid a pass to Vinicius Junior who unselfishly found Lucas Vasquez to tap-into an empty net to make it 2-0 to Real.

In the 77th minute, Vinicius deservedly got his goal as he was on hand to turn in a beautiful cross from Odrizola to seal the win with a three-goal margin.

Solari will breathe a sigh of relief with his first win in 2019 after drawing with Villarreal and losing Real Sociedad in their La Liga fixtures.
