FEC approves establishment of 4 new private universities

- The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the establishment of four new private universities

- The new universities are Greenfield University Kaduna; Dominion University, Ibadan Oyo state; Trinity University, Ogun state; and Westland University in Iwo, Osun state

- The four universities met the requirements for establishments, following a visitation by the National Universities Commission

The establishment of four new private universities has been approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The development was made public by the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, during a chat with newsmen at the end of the meeting that lasted for about five hours, Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Adamu Adamu said the new universities are Greenfield University Kaduna; Dominion University, Ibadan Oyo state; Trinity University, Ogun state; and Westland University in Iwo, Osun state.

The minister explained that the four universities met the requirements for establishments, following a visitation by the National Universities Commission (NUC). He said the approvals were granted based on this.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the federal government approved the establishment of six new private universities in the country.

The decision was reached during a Federal Executive Council meeting which held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
