I've never asked EFCC to spare any corrupt person - Buhari

- President Muhammadu Buhari has said no politician will be spared from persecution

- President Buhari insisted he is not protecting politicians in APC

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he has never spared any corrupt politician, including those who decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC), from investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The president, who made this known during a recent interview on Arise Television, also said his integrity is at stake whenever people claim he is protecting corrupt politicians in APC and those who recently joined the party.

He said: “It is very unfair allegation against my integrity… I do not spare anybody unless I don’t have the facts. I don’t think Akpabio, whatever he did when he moved to the APC, I said he should be left alone.

“I can’t remember asking the EFCC, ICPC, the police or anybody to spare any corrupt person or incompetent person. I haven’t done it and I challenge you to expose any.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Buhari appointed Akpabio as the national coordinator of the presidential support committee in preparation of 2019 elections.

Akwa Ibom state coordinator of the committee, Pastor Mfon Okon, also revealed on Thursday, December 27, 2018, in Uyo that four other indigenes of the state were also appointed into the committee.
