The Northern Youths Coalition group has called on chairperson of the Committee on National Collation Centre, Amina Zakari, to resign her appointment over her alleged relationship witth President Muhammadu Buhari.
Chairman of the group, Shetima Yerima, said the controversy surrounding the relationship between President Buhari and Zakari has raised doubts in people's mind.
Independent reports that Yerima said Zakari must resign to ensure a free and fair election.
The Northern Youths Coalition's call for Zakari to resign came after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urged her to recuse herself from her appointment.
Osita Chidoka, a spokesperson for PDP’s presidential campaign council made the call.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Proactive Gender Initiatives (PGI) says allegations being peddled against Hajia Amina Zakari are gender-related violence that Nigerian women now face in the society.
National coordinator of PGI, a civil society organisation (CSO), Esther Uzoma, made the remark in an interview on Sunday, January 6.

Uzoma, who is also the alternate chairperson, Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, said nobody believed that a woman could rise to such position by her own merit.
