- Chelsea have agreed terms with Gonzalo Higuain ahead of a proposed loan move to Stamford Bridge this winter
- The 31-year-old has failed to settle down successfully at AC Milan following his summer move to the San Siro last summer
- The Argentine is expected to replace Alvaro Morata to improve the Blues goals scoring chances in front of goal
Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly close to sealing a move for Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain this month.
The 31-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri last summer as a replacement for under-firing Alvaro Morata.
Despite scoring just six goals in 15 Italian League matches so far this campaign, Blues boss Sarri believes the 31-year-old can end his side's struggles in front of goal.
Meanwhile, SunSport quoting Marca reports that the former Real Madrid forward has agreed terms with west London club, adding that his move could be finalised today.
However, the FA Cup defending champions are said to be targeting Sevilla's Andre Silva - who is on loan from AC Milan and could cost the Spanish League side £32 million to buy in the summer.
According to report from the Stamford Bridge, Higuain is expected to earn about £140,000 a week when he finally joins the club.
The Argentina international set a new Serie A goal-scoring record under Sarri at the Stadio San Paolo in the 2015/16 campaign with 36 goals.
In total, the 31-year-old found the back of the net 71 times in 94 appearances during his three year reign at the club after which he moved to the Allianz Stadium in a mega deal around £75m move to Juventus in 2016.
Higuain sent out on loan to AC Milan last August after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and the Argentine has been unable to find his footing at the club.
He has netted eight times in 20 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign, with the club's sporting director Leonardo warning the striker to step his game while he is still playing at the San Siro.

He said: "A goal can change things, but if he is to continue here, he needs to take on responsibility.
"He had a tough moment, he has to put it behind him and get to work."
When asked about Chelsea's interest in Higuain, Leonardo said: "There's no point following rumours and gossip.
"He is here right now. Seeing as he is here, he needs to get down and actually do something for this team."
Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea are close to sealing a swap deal for AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan as Alvaro Morata heads to the San Siro.
According to a UK Sun report Blues manager Maurizio Sarri has lost faith with Morata, with Eden Hazard now playing as ‘False 9’ for Chelsea.
The 26-yer-old Spaniard has struggled for form since his £65m arrival at Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid in 2017.
