- A group has said Rotimi Amaechi’s alleged audio is a plan by opposition to cause disunity
- The group's president, Livingstone Wichie, said the audio is to make Amaechi an enemy of President Buhari
- Wichie also asked northerners to disregard the audio and see it as fake
The Integrity Group has claimed that the alleged leaked tape of Rotimi Amaechi criticising President Muhammadu Buhari was concocted and released to make the minister of transportation an enemy of the president.
President of the group, Livingstone Wichie, on Tuesday, January 8, while speaking with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the audio was not only to make Amaechi a bad person but also an enemy of the northern people.
Wichie also asked Nigerians, especially those from the north to see the audio as propaganda that was only directed towards causing trouble.
He said: “It is regrettable that this plot to subtly portray Rotimi Amaechi as a saboteur and undermine the south-south in the current dispensation is unhealthy for politics.
“The question now is what do the sponsors of the contrived audio seek to achieve? Is Rotimi Amaechi contesting any election?”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, had said that the alleged leaked audio of Amaechi will not cause disunity among members of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Lai also said the leaked audio was a plan by opposition members in what he called the “mudslinging politics of the opposition”.
