Maurizio Sarri has taken a swipe on Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino claiming the Argentine manager must win a trophy in appreciation to the clubs investment.
According to a UK Telegraph report, Pochettino has now come out to dismiss the Italians comments, insisting such claims are laughable.
Sarri, who joined Chelsea six months ago, stressed managers such as Pochettino alongside the pair of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, have spent more time with their respective clubs, but Pochettino was quick to point out that to Spurs stadium project remain a huge financial disadvantage.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Chelsea in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie at Wembley on Tuesday, Sarri, who replaced compatriot Antonio Conte insists Poch was more under pressure to win a trophy.
“He is a very good coach, one of the best at the moment,” noted the Italian.
“I agree that he has to win a trophy, I hope not this [the Carabao Cup],” Sarri noted, even as he was quick to admit he also needs a silverware.
“Yes, it is the same. Of course, Pochettino is in Tottenham from four years ago and I am here from six months.
“Here, in the first season, it is really difficult – for everybody, for Pochettino, four years, for Klopp, four years. It was really hard in the first season also for Guardiola. So, here it is really very difficult to build up a very important team, I think you need time.”

Interestingly, Pochettino without any knowledge of Sarri’s submission earlier, outline some limitations’ facing his at White Hart Lane.
“When you build a stadium and you have limitations, people demand you win, but you don’t have the same tools as other clubs. When Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis called me, they said ‘Mauricio, we need to prepare and help the club, so when we arrive in the new stadium we have a team that can finish in the top four’. We are in advance, no? That’s why I laugh when people say we need to win a trophy.”
Tottenham battle Chelsea tonight in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie at Wembley on Tuesday, January 8, with the two managers eyeing first trophies.
Pochettino is in his fifth season at Spurs and only played in one final, losing to Chelsea during in the final of 2015 Carabao Cup, and has also played in two FA Cup semi-finals within the period.
At the last count, Tottenham have featured in the Champions League for three consecutive seasons, spending less than other Premier League giants.
