- Gauteng couple buy their domestic worker a three-bedroom home in Fourways
- Violet Mkhwanazi worked for Pamela and Jonathan Niemand for 16 years
- A YouTube video shows Mkhwanazi and her two children being surprised with the new home
While many employees expect to receive bonuses during the festive season, domestic worker Violet Mkhwanazi received a gift way more precious than anyone could have imagined. To thank Mkhwanazi for her 16 years of remarkable service, Gauteng power-couple, Pamela and Jonathan Niemand, gifted her with a three-bedroom home in Fourways.
Acknowledging the struggles of buying property in South Africa, Pamela thought the Riverside View home would enable Mkhwanazi to improve her and her family’s standard of living.
Pamela hoped that her and her husband’s gesture would "inspire others to do the same and help make South Africa a better place,” she says in a video posted on YouTube.
The couple also thanked Mkhwanazi for being an incredible person and taking care of their family by buying the lavish gift for her and her two children who previously lived in Diepsloot.
TheSouthAfrican.com reported that Pamela said she believed that the new home would be a “massive improvement to her current living circumstances” in Diepsloot. Mkhwanazi previously lived in a one-bedroom home shared by her 10-year-old son Mlungisi and 6-year-old daughter Angelica. Mkhwanazi’s husband had previously passed away.
The video which was posted by Pamela, shows Mkhwanazi completely unaware that her life was about to change as she walks up to meet Niemand at the property where the family, camera crews and tons of balloons awaited her.
Mkhwanazi gushed as she discovered what all the fuss was about. Her shock and excitement as she discovers that she is now the proud new owner of a three-bedroom home, is just what South Africa needs to warm our hearts as we enter the new year.
Mkhwanazi’s children are equally excited as they explore their new home.
Pamela is the CEO of Enigma Lifestyle Hotel Apartments and a pageant winner. Her husband, Jonathan is a business consultant and says he completely supported Pamela’s decision to buy Mkhwanazi a house, as it was something close to his wife's heart.
