Buhari, Osinbajo to participate in a live interactive programme

- President Buhari and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo, will participate in a presidential townhall interactive programme

- The event will hold on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja

- The event will have presidential and vice-presidential candidates of selected political parties on stage at the same time and at different dates to answer questions from the general public

President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, will participate in a live televised presidential townhall interactive programme on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 8pm, at Ladi Kwali Conference Center, Ballroom of Sheraton Hotel Abuja.

According to a statement released by the All progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, attendance to the event is strictly by invitation.

The statement, signed by the council's director of strategic communications, Festus Keyamo, read: "The presidential series, which is titled “The Candidates”, is designed by the organisers to have both the Presidential and their Vice-Presidential Candidates of selected political parties on stage at the same time and at different dates to take questions from the moderator, Kadaria Ahmed and from the general public through various platforms.

"The programme would be broadcast live on NTA, which shall in turn provide the live feeds to other partner stations like TVC, Wazobia TV, Oak TV and on all Radio Nigeria stations. It will also be streamed on-line at dtv.media to enable Nigerians in diaspora to participate."

Legit.ng earlier reported that the senator representing Kaduna central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, told Nigerians who are insisting that President Buhari attends the January 19 presidential debate that the president cannot be forced to participate in the debate.

Sani who made this know on twitter and in Nigeria's pidgin English said the president has been talking for a long time and that should be enough. According to him, people only want to disgrace the president by quoting what he says.
